Remember our potatoes planted in an old bin? Well, I topped them up with earth the way you should. Then one day a storm hit.They all bent over and the stems started breaking. Shock horror. I tied them up as best I could. But 2-3 weeks later, there was a dead mess of leaves.
So today we cleared “the dead” and then had a good old dig… out came:
Not one, not two, but 15 potatoes!!! We are VERY happy with our stash!! I wonder how many more it would have been if the stems hadn’t broken and we could have left them longer….
I ran out of potatoes today.. and luckily the garden came to the rescue!
