We love giving gifts and we love nothing more than giving gifts with a little bit of added thought… and if we can make part of it, then even better!!! This Breakfast Hamper idea came via Netmums, who have a number of hamper ideas to inspire you. I took the “basis” and went from there..
A breakfast hamper would be a great gift for a New Mum (she will need lots of energy), someone who has moved house (give them a good start to their busy unpacking kind of day) or just that Breakfast Foodie.
I say “presents kids can make”, these actually make lovely presents that “adults can make” too. The idea is that you get “Christmas Baking”, making any yummy traditional Christams cookie recipe that you love to make. Wrap them nicely, add a little Homemade Ornament as a decoration and you have a wonderful Christmas kids, that either kids can make or you can. Basically, you can be as adventurous or simple with your recipes as you want to be. It is up to you really.
TOP TIP: In Austria, we like to make 6-8 different cookie types and that makes the gift bags really sweet. But I also think they look great with just one type of biscuit. SHOULD you go for more than biscuit – then I suggest that you store each type of biscuit in a separate cookie tin, until you are ready to wrap them and give them. I find that if you have the same biscuits in the same tin/ or gift bag, the flavour mix and each individual sort is no longer as good.
