Two for Tea. And Tea For Two….

… or in our case tea for five! Today, we had a wonderful Easter Holiday treat! Whenever the kids have a long(er) holiday, The Boy goes for a sleepover at Granny’s house. I think it is a special time of his life to spend with his grandparents and it is nice for them to have some quality time with him!

To make the return journey easier for Granny, we meet in “town” as part of our holiday activities and do something “nice”. Frequently it has been a trip to a gallery or museum. But today.. today … it was AFTERNOON TEA at the Cavendish Hotel. The team at the Cavendish Hotel were kind enough to treat us to our afternoon out. The Girl had been looking forward to it all day!

We spent a cozy afternoon, prompt up on plump pillows enjoying Earl Grey, fresh juice and delicious sandwiches (well the grown ups ate the sandwiches… the kids tucked into traditional scones and cakes!).

DSCF1188Excuse, the slightly grainy photo – the lighting was cozy, so tricky to take good photos!

We ordered afternoon tea for three, but had plenty left (even though you are allowed to order top ups!). Really! Quite a treat. About a year a go we had been to The Wolseley around the corner for afternoon tea – and Granny remarked on how, though both venues were lovely, The Cavendish was simply more relaxed. I had to agree. The kids were calmer too in the cozy calm environment of the hotel (and there was a lot less running around), it was all just very relaxed.

So.. a big thank you to the team at The Cavendish Hotel London. We had a lovely afternoon and hope to be there again soon… for a certain Book Launch!!! Watch this space!

Disclaimer: we went had afternoon tea at no cost.
