Union Jack Maxi Micro Scooter – We love it!

Gosh, it seems like only yesterday that Red Ted got his Mini Micro Scooter. It was an instant hit and the scooter has been our main form of transport ever since. With “big school” (actually, “just” school) looming and some of his friends already on the Maxi Micro Scooter range, we thought it was a good time to upgrade! A great way to welcome becoming “big” and starting Reception in Sept.

Luckily for us, the lovely peeps at Micro Scooter sent us a complimentary special edition Union Jack scooter! Lucky us indeed!!!

Officially, the Maxi scooters are for 6-12 year olds. This is mainly because they are much faster and the front wheels are much more manoverable. However, I have seen “tall and heavy” 4 yrs olds at Red Ted’s school on them for some time. Basically – this is down to the parent to decide when your child is ready for it.

Red Ted took to it like a duck to water. He was off off off. Every time, I tried to take a photo, he was down the road with it already. He definitely is fast! I think it works well for us, as he was already used to the Mini – he knows how to handle the scooter and more importantly, he knows how to BREAK safely. I think the breaks on the Micro Scooters are great and the children need to learn how to use them (we are just starting to teach Pip Squeak to do this safely on her Mini Micro).

Red Ted is over the moon with his new “big boy” scooter. We love the Union Jack colours and Red Ted loves his little drinks bag too! Wonderful.

I can highly recommend this scooter and it is great to know, order finasteride canada that this will last him until he is 12 years (I suspect I may be able to go on it every so often too! Hehehe).

I also wanted to add, that I am VERY pleased to see that Mirco Scooters have a range of fantastic cycle helmets too and that they advocate wearing them. We are one of the VERY FEW families that wear a cycle helmet when scooting and I am frustrated to see that others are not following suit (especially as my two kids frequently say “but so and so doesn’t wear theirs”, to which I say “tough, if you want to scoot, you wear your helmet”)… Scooters are a fabulous form of transport, but they are fast and by definition your scoot on tarmac. If your child wears a helmet on their bike, the why aren’t they wearing it on their scooter? In my eyes, it is the same difference? I appeal to you, to wear helmets. Seriously. Wear them. Safety first. There are so many cool helmets available now, so really, no excuse not to wear one!

Oh and whilst I have your attention…. Micro Scooters have a great set of accessories, already available, with new ones coming out – check out this adorable Hobyheadz – ha! What a brilliant take on your traditional Hobby Horse! Now you really can take your scooter for a ride. Available soon on the Micro Scooter website. And oh my goodness.. have you seen the new “Good Ideas” section on their website?? You will find lots of other (general) products, handy ideas for play or ideas for travel… e.g. Love this traditional Think-Ets game. Wonderful set of product ideas. Wow!
