…those of you who follow me on social media or know me over on Red Ted Art, know that I LOVE Christmas and what I love even more, is making Christmas SPECIAL for the kids. It is the time to get magical and it is the time to spend time together. We have our own family Advent Traditions, which by definition we do year in year out. And then we have the things that make each year different and special. It may be a trip to a certain play, it might be seeing friends we care about, but always get the chance to. Or it may be a wonderful day out.
We had such a day courtesy of HP at the Westfield stand showing their latest products, apps and goodies…
We started the session with some colouring, sticking and glittering.. (yes glittering is a word, honest, I should know). Happy to make a mess somewhere else with glitter. HP have created a set of printables that you can download to keep the kids busy.
We loved the Father Christmas cut out that you can later use to play “Pin the belt on Santa”. Kids adored it.
The Boy enjoyed being all grown up and creating recipe cards with Dad (love that idea, no more scribbled messy notes tucked into the back of cook books). Whilst… the girl and I had fun with one of the photo Apps.
The tablet come desk top is rather amazing…. And it is rather scary, how quickly a 4year old takes to it!
Hubby was rather taken by the video greeting card app – HP Live Photo (more info below) – you take a little family video – print off a still… and then anyone receiving that card with the app on their phones can view the message instantly. GREAT fun. And love having a family pic (we don’t have many of all four us together).
If the colouring sheets from earlier are not enough, you can also check out a great set of Origami printables – they come with instructions and specially lined paper that makes following the instructions easier!
To be honest, the photos speak for themselves. The kids had a lovely TWO HOURS with the HP team. Yes, we were the 2 hours and it didn’t feel like it at all. The kids were busy and engaged in all the different things that HP has to offer this Christmas. Result.
After that we got to meet Father Christmas (yes, rather special), had a great meal at Pizza Express (we don’t eat out as a family often enough) AND went Ice Skating.. what a busy day indeed…. we came home pooped, but happy. Lit our Advent candle, made a cup of tea and got out the Christmas Cookies.
Thank you to HP for a lovely day out. You can catch HP at Westfield and try these out for yourself.
HP Live Photo, offers a new consumer printing experience by embedding short video moments into printed photos.
Experienced directly through either the original HP Slate 7, selected Android phones or an iPhone, the HP Live Photo app allows users to create, view and share images using augmented reality. By merging still images with life’s moments, the HP Live Photo app will change the way consumers share greeting cards and tell stories. Users simply download the free app from iTunes or Google Play, choose a video (45 seconds or shorter) from their camera, select an automatically generated still image, add a fun template, then print and share it. HP Live Photos can be shared by email, Facebook or by printing to any Web or AirPrint-enabled printer. Every HP Live Photo will include a blue origami icon designating it as a HP Live Photo.
