We have another movie review for you today (it must be that time of year?) And as we are big film boffins (did I mention the kids don’t watch telly, but only get one movie a week?!), it seems appropriate. We were sent The Curse of the Midas Box to review with the kids (6 and 4), luckily, I checked the trailer WITH them first and we realised, though this looked like a potentially great movie… maybe 6 and 4 were a little young! Ha. So I watched it with Daddy instead. And I would say it is a little akin to Indiana Jones – a great action packed movie, filled with intrigue and adventure, but definitely for slightly older kids (9yrs+ ????).
After his parents disappear, and his brother is kidnapped (dramatically), Mariah joins forces with Will Charity to find his brother and help Will prevent the evil Otto Lugar from getting his hands on the mystical Midas Box – said to provide you with as much gold as you want. Mariah’s journey takes him to the fantastical steam powered hotel on a small island. Will Mariah find his brother? And will Mariah prevent Lugar from finding the box?

What I thought
On the whole we enjoyed watching this movie, it will make for a prefect “Christmas movie”, getting the family together and adding a bit of mystery to your family movie watching afternoon.
