Great ideas for kids this summer
If you are busy parent like me, you will be looking for some great ideas for kids to do this summer, that don’t cost the earth, are easy to set up and do and that will provide them with some nice wholesome fun and entertainment.
With the world Ai slop, it can be hard to find genuinely good resources to use – that you can rely on 100% and that the kids will enjoy. So here are some great resources for you to check out!
Red Ted Art – Red Ted Art is a great first port of call for any teacher, parent or carer. The website is a free access website – with literally 100s of free crafts and activities for you too. It is relatively easy to navigate.. you can choose from the seasons e.g. click on the homepage summer tab, or check one of the drop down menus (if you choose browse crafts for example, you can pick ideas suitable for preschoolers with a little help or pick the holiday tab and find ideas for upcooming celebrations eg back to school). As mentioned this website is free to access and also host many printables – the printables often are completely free or partly free – design so that everyone can have a go on some level. It is also supported by an excellent YouTube channel.
The best bit, you can choose from a number of fantastic creative books!
There is:
- Red Ted Art, Cute and Easy Crafts for Kids – the first and original Red Ted Art book, which contains a wonderful eccelctic mix of activities
- Easy Paper Projects – we particularly love this book, as all you really need is paper and a bit of stationery to make everything in it! And it encourages you to expand on the idea and turn one craft into 10 different ones (e.g. the bookmark section or card making section)
- The Big Book of Beginner Amigurumi – this is basically a fantastic crochet book for beginners and intermediates – that have limited supplies or limited time.. but want to make some super cute crochet projects! This really is a great crochet book that makes a fantastic gift
Enjoy!
