Valentine’s Baking Ideas
|Well.. if you know my husband.. then you know a Happy Valentine’s involves lots of Valentine’s Baking Ideas! You sure get to HIS heart via his stomach. When it comes to Valentine’s Day, I think it is always nice to make something yourself – be it a Valentine’s Gift or a special Valentine’s meal. It definitely should not be about how much money you spend, but how much effort you put it! (If you are after some Valentine’s Day Craft Ideas, pop over to Red Ted Art).
So I thought I would share a summary of Valentine’s Bakes past and present:
We made these last year and they were DELICIOUS. Add the heart shape as a finishing touch.
I can’t say what it is about a cookie on a stick, but it tastes better. I promise. It does. The kids can vouch for it. Super easy to do. Here we have a chocolate shortbread recipe.
As you may know by now, we have a favourite shortbread recipe that we love to use in all forms and guises. This time we coloured them pink and made shortbread hearts, then dipped them in chocolate. Yummy.
Healthier treats for kids. Packed with nutrients. Check out our easy granola recipe.
Remember love heart sweets? Why not make some cute cookies with messages on them for Valentine’s? These are bound to go down well!
I just love these little sweethearts. Two little gingerbread men saying “I love You”. Say aaah. Perfect for sharing.
I love these M&M Cookies from Beantown Baker – shows that it doesn’t have to be all “hearts” to be lovely indeed. And the great thing about these, is that the kids DEFINITELY can help. I know mine would want to!
A sweet post making Valentine’s muffins, what I particularly like is how Glittering Muffins involves the young boy. Wonderful to get children involved in cooking and having fun at Valentine’s. Can’t wait to try the muffins too!
Love how a simple decoration turns, some yummy flapjacks into a great Valentine’s Treat! Mmmmh. Thanks Here Come The Girls.
Donuts are still very much on my “To Bake” list. Something I haven’t tried, but will. As I LOVE donuts. Suspect my kids will love them too. Here is a baking recipe from Cook Au Vin.
Ooh these chocolate cookies look delicious! What a “sweet treat” to get. From Bake 350.
And I think I will be choosing a good book to give with our treats. You can never go wrong with a good read, no can you?!
