Winter Activities

January is always such a GLOOMY time of year. The excitement of Christmas is over. All the pretty decorations and wonderful fairylights come down and we are left in grey, dull, darkness. The daily grind continues and everyone is grumpy. Ha! This really does NOT need to be the case… there are plenty of things to celebrate about Winter and get you excited about the New Year. Here are some things that we like doing at this time of year!

Firstly, give some thought to the birds! Winter can be harsh for them and this is a great time of year to make your own pretty and fun Bird Feeders – These Cheerio Bird Feeders are easy to make and you can shape them into any design. 0-Ice-DecorationsEmbrace cold.. and make the most of the cold cold weather. Our favourite cold weather activity are these super easy ice ornaments. A great way to explore a bit of Science too!

We also look forward to Chinese New Year. Which normally falls into early February.. which means you can get some bright colours back into the house quite early in January. We adore these Dragon Puppets and the printable is ever so handy! LOTS more Chinese New Year ideas here!
