Picture Books: Nat The Cat’s Sunny Smile
|Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in return for the giveaway!
As you know we are a great fan of kid’s picture books – we love reading stories – especially at bedtime before the kids snuggle down to sleep. A great way to wind down and have good old fashioned quality time together.
Today we have Nat The Cat’s Sunny Smile by Jez Alborough – we love Jez’s books – one of our favourite being the very “simple” Hug – super cute and wonderfully illustrated (I love how one word can be expressed in so many different ways and thus have so many different emotional meanings)… anyway back to Nat The Cat’s Sunny Smile.
The story is all about Nat the Cat and her friends Hugo and Billy. Hugo and Billy are having bad bad days and don’t want to come out to play.. but Nat’s sunny smile soon changes things… in the meantime Nat looses some of her shine, as she misses her friends at the special picnic she has prepared.
Another sweet story by Jez, with wonderful illustrations – ending with a special Friends song at the end. I have had to dust off the piano for us to figure out the tune as the kids were keen to sing it straight away. Ah lovely.
I always judge a book by my children’s reactions – they took to it immediately and have requested it on subsequent evenings! Hooray.
Now…. would you like to win a copy of Nat The Cat’s Sunny Smile?
Simple.. visit Jez Alborough’s website, take a peak at the other titles and come back here telling us, which books you are familiar with. If you don’t know any of the books, which would you like to read?
