Dinosaur activities for preschool

We recently got hold of some WONDERFUL Dinosaur Educational Toys – these are wonderful little Dinosaur Models by a company call TOOB and I think they are so fun and lovely, that I wanted to share some Dinosaur activities for preschool with you! You can get these type on dinosaurs in museum shops, on amazon and toy stores. But I really love our TOOB (info below), as the quality, detail, tactile-ness and everything about them is simply amazing – they are even hand painted to finish them off!

Counting – the simplest of all the ideas – but simple isn’t, bad, right? Get your kids to practicing their basic 1-10 and if you have a bigger set… go up to 20. Slightly older kids can use them to practice their number bonds too! Have 6 dinos? How many more to make it to 10?

DINO NAMES – yes another basic idea, but the kids love it. Use this Dino TOOB set to learn your dinosaur names (I certainly need to brush up on some skills!

Create magical landscapes with dinosaur PLAYDOUGH

Dinosaur Fossils – make your own fossils with the kids – not only is the making of these fun, but you can then play match the dinosaur afterwards

Easy Dinosaur CAKE! I love using plastic toys, to make a “themed cake” for my kids – the dinosaur cake decorating is so much easier and the kids are so happy to have an extra toy for their birthday! Be sure to the let the party goes know, the toys are for the birthday child though! You don’t want tears (or buy an extra set???)
